<br />WATERWORKS SYSTEM
<br />
<br />The City of San Marcos receives its total water supply from four existing wells tapping the
<br />Edwards Aquifer. The system is served from two pressure planes, the upper pressure plane
<br />serving the area above the Balcones Escarpment with the lower pressure nlane serving the
<br />remainder of the City. The City's waterworks system is comprised of three pump stations.
<br />two ground storage tanks and three elevated storage tanks. The system has a peak pumping
<br />capability of 9.5 million gallons per day. 9.36 million gallons of storage capacity and
<br />maintains an average pressure of approximately 45 p.s.i.
