RESOLUTION 2014 - 02R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT <br />AN APPLICATION FOR RECLAMATION GRANT FUNDING FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR 2014 WATERSMART <br />GRANT FUNDS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation is accepting grant <br />applications from organizations with water authority to leverage their money and resources by <br />cost sharing on projects that seek to conserve and use water more efficiently, increase the use of <br />renewable energy and improve energy and water efficiency. <br />2. The City Council of the City of San Marcos finds it in the best interest of the <br />citizens of San Marcos to apply for funding on a cost - share basis. <br />3. Upon the City receiving the award of a grant, the City of San Marcos intends to <br />allocate funds necessary to meet any and all funding requirements for the grant <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Manager is hereby designated as the City's authorized official <br />and is authorized to submit a grant application for Reclamation Grant funding from the U.S. <br />Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation 2014 WaterSmart Grant funds. <br />PART 2.
