ORDINANCE 1985-69 88 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1984-88 ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 24, 1984 WHICH ADDED A SUBSECTION D TO SECTION IV OF THE MASTER PLAN, TO CHANGE SAID SUBSECTION D TO SUBSECTION C; TO AMEND SUBSECTION 3 OF SAID SUBSECTION C, IMPLEMENTING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE MASTER PLAN, OF SECTION IV, LAND USE, OF SAID MASTER PLAN BY DELINEATING THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION, THE ZONING COMMISSION AND THE CITY COUNCIL AND PROVIDING FOR MAP AMENDMENTS BY RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ONLY AFTER A PUBLIC HEARING; TO DELETE FROM SAID SECTION IV, SUBSECTION C, THE SUMMARY FOLLOWING SAID SUBSECTION C. 3 i AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted a Master Plan for said City on May 9, 1983; and, WHEREAS, specific implementation mechanisms are required to reach the goals adopted in said Master Plan; and, WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the Charter of the City of San Marcos provides that only the City Council, after a public hearing, can amend the Master Plan; and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the proposed Master Plan Amendment on May 20 , 1985 ; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Subsection D. Implementing The Land Use Element Of The Master Plan, of Section IV, Land Use, of the Master Plan of said City, as adopted by Ordinance 1984-88 on September 24, 1984, is hereby changed to Subsection C. SECTION 2. That Section 3 of Subsection C, Implementing The Land Use Element Of The Master Plan, of Section IV, Land Use, of the Master Plan for the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted by Ordinance 1984-88 on September 24, 1984, is hereby amended to read as follows and the same is hereby ~dopted and shall henceforth be a part of said Master Plan: Sec. IV. . .. C. . . . 3. Changing the Futùre Land Use Plan (Map) The Planning Commission meeting jointly with the Zoning commission shall make recommendations to the Council on all proposed amendments to the Future Land Use Plan (Map). In all such cases, the Zoning Commission may make recommendations on Future Land Use Plan (Map) changes. The City Council may approve any proposed changes to the Future Land Use Plan (Map) by resolution, only after a public hearing as required by the City Charter. In all cases, the Master Plan Goals, Objectives, and Policies will be used as the basis for a decision concerning a revision of the Future Land Use Plan (Map).
