<br /> RESOLUTION 1985-l08R 110 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CASTING VOTES FOR <br /> DIRECTORS OF THE HAYS COUNTY CENTRAL APPRAISAL <br /> DISTRICT FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, <br /> 1986; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO <br /> SUBMIT SAID VOTES TO THE COUNTY CLERK OF HAYS <br /> COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Texas Property Tax Code provides for an <br /> appraisal district in each county of the state to be governed by a <br /> board of five directors appointed by vote of the governing bodies <br /> of the incorporated cities and towns and the school districts that <br /> participate in the district and of the county; and, <br /> WHEREAS, a director of an appraisal district must be a <br /> resident of the district and must have resided in the district for <br /> at least two years immediately preceding the date on which office <br /> is taken; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Section 6.03(a) of the Property Tax Code expressly <br /> provides that an individual who is otherwise eligible to serve on <br /> the board is not ineligible because of membership on the governing <br /> body of a taxing unit; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Syliva Caskey, Dixie Dabelgott, Roger Fernandez, <br /> Fred Guerra, Mike Moeller, Michael Stevens and Vince Taylor have <br /> been duly nominated for a position on the Board of Directors of <br /> the Hays County Appraisal District; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on October 23, 1985, the Mayor of the City of San <br /> Marcos, Texas, received a copy of the ballot duly prepared by the <br /> county clerk for Hays County, Texas; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos has been <br /> notified by the county clerk of Hays County, Texas, that said City <br /> is entitled to cast 1040 votes in said election; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the 1040 votes to which the City of San <br /> Marcos, Texas, is entitled as a taxing unit pursuant to Section <br /> 6.03(a) of the Texas Property Tax Code, be, and the same are <br /> hereby, cast for positions on the Board of Directors of the Hays <br /> County Central Appraisal District as follows: <br /> Sylvia Caskey Mike Moeller <br /> -- - <br /> Dixie Dabelgott Michael Stevens <br /> - -- <br /> Roger Fernandez 2..0..6- Vince Taylor <br /> - <br /> Fred Guerra .8...lL <br /> PART 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br /> be, and she is hereby, authorized to submit this Resolution to <br /> Lydell B. Clayton, County Clerk for Hays County, Texas, on or <br /> before November 15, 1985. <br /> PART 3.
