City of San Marcos -3- Oc tober 9, 1985
thirty (30) days after receipt of our statement. The above
quoted rates are subject to review annually and are currently
our rates to our municipal clients.
Firm time records are processed by our in-house computer. We
maintain strict confidentiality of all client records.
For your convenience, our Texas WATS number is 1-800-5071.
It is our intention to give your legal matters prompt and ex pe-
ditious attention, and if we fail to do so at any time, we
invite your immediate inquiry.
These were our fees for the acquisition of the following water
utilities:
Starbright Water Company (very small system) - $ 2,000
Valencia Water Company ----------------------- 27,000
Lackland City Water Company ------------------ 21,000
The difference in the fees was that in the case of Starbright,
there were no negotiations, no title or lien problems, and all
we did was prepare the papers on a deal previously negotiated.
In the case of Valencia and Lackland City Water Company, we
were required to negotiate for the client as well as clear up
troublesome title and lien problems. In addition, in the case
of Valencia, creative financing was required. We had a problem
under our trust indenture related to obligating the City Water
Board for debt under circumstances where our current bondhold-
ers held a first lien on our revenue.
The above information should assist you in getting a handle on
our costs for the acquisition of the water system in San
Marcos.
If the agreement set out herein is acceptable to the City of
San Marcos, we would appreciate your signing the enclosed copy
