<br /> united states of America and shall be made by the Paying <br /> Agent/Registrar by check or draft sent on or prior to the <br /> appropriate date of payment, by united states mail, first class <br /> postage prepaid, to the registered owner hereof on the applicable <br /> dates specified, at the address appearing on the Registration <br /> Books, or by such other method acceptable to the Paying <br /> Agent/Registrar requested by the registered owner at the Holder's <br /> rlsk and expense. If a date for the payment of the principal of <br /> or interest on this Bond is a Saturday, Sunday, legal holiday, or <br /> a day on which banking insti tutions in the City in which the <br /> Paying Agent/Registrar is located are authorized by law or <br /> executive order to close, then the date for such payment shall be <br /> the next succeeding day which is not a Saturday, Sunday, legal <br /> holiday, or day on which such banking institutions are authorized <br /> to close; and payment on such date shall have the same force and <br /> effect as if made on the original date payment was due. <br /> THIS BOND is one of the series designated in its title, <br /> issued in the aggregate principal amount of $730,000 for the <br /> pur~ose of refunding and in lieu of certain outstanding <br /> obl19ations of the City described in the Ordinance hereinafter <br /> mentloned, in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the <br /> State of Texas, and particularly Article 717k-3 of the Revised <br /> civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, and pursuant to an ordinance <br /> by the City Council of the City authorizing the issuance, sale and <br /> delivery of the Bonds (the "Ordinance"). <br /> THE BONDS and the interest thereon are payable from the levy <br /> of a direct and continuing ad valorem tax against all taxable <br /> property in the City and by a pledge of and lien on the Surplus <br /> Revenues of the City's combined waterworks and Sewer System, all <br /> as provided in the Ordinance. <br /> THE CITY reserves the right to issue additional obligations <br /> which may be payable from the same source, secured in the same <br /> manner, and placed on a parity with this Bond and the series of <br /> which it is a part. <br /> AS PROVIDED in the Ordinance and subject to certain <br /> limitations set forth therein, this Bond is transferable on the <br /> Registration Books of the City, upon surrender of this Bond for <br /> transfer at the principal corporate office of the Paying <br /> Agent/Registrar, duly endorsed by, or accompanied by a written <br /> instrument of transfer in form satisfactory to the Paying <br /> Agent/Registrar duly executed by, the registered owner hereof or <br /> hlS attorney duly authorized in writing, and thereupon one or more <br /> new fully registered Bonds of the same Stated Maturity, of <br /> authorized denominations, bearing the same rate of interest, and <br /> for the same aggregate principal amount will be issued to the <br /> designated tr~nsferee or transferees. By acceptance of this Bond, <br /> the Holder assents to all of the provislons of the Ordinance. <br /> THE CITY, the Paying Agent/Registrar, and any agent of either <br /> of them may treat the person in whose name this Bond is registered <br /> -7- <br />
