<br /> Al\! ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
<br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPANDING THE FU'IURE LAND USE PLAN (MAP)
<br /> OF THE MASTER PLAN OF SAID CITY ADOPTED ON MAY 9, 1983 BY
<br /> ADDI NG ADDITIONAL AREA THERETO WHICH SHALL HENCEFORTH BE
<br /> A PART OF SAID MASTER PLAN AND AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND
<br /> USE PIAN (MAP), THE TOTAL AREA FOR SAID EXPANSION AND
<br /> AMENDMENT OF SAID MAP BEING COMroSED OF 514 ACRES, MORE
<br /> OR LESS AND BEING LCX:ATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF IH-35 NORTH;
<br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFErTIVE DATE.
<br /> WHEREAS, the Master Plan of the City of San Marcos, Texas, was
<br /> adopted on May 9,1983; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the Joint Planning and Zoning ComITQssions of said City
<br /> held a public hearing regarding a request to amend the Future Land Use
<br /> Plan (Map) of said Master Plan on September 3, 1985, from low density
<br /> residential, medium density residential, high density residential,
<br /> floating cormnercial and floating neighborhood commercial to low
<br /> density residential, medium density residential, high density
<br /> residential, office and professional, commercial, industrial, and
<br /> public; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the granting of said request necessitates amendments to
<br /> said Future Land Use Plan (Map) as well as expansion of said Future
<br /> Land Use Plan (Map) for area which is located without the City limits
<br /> of said City but wi thin said City's two (2) mile extraterritorial
<br /> jurisdiction; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of said City held a public hearing on
<br /> the 28th day of October, 1985 regarding said amendments and expansion
<br /> of said Future Land Use Plan (Map); and,
<br /> WHEREAS, all requirements of the Master Plan pertaining to
<br /> amendments thereto and expansion thereof have been met; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, said City Council hereby finds and detennines that the
<br /> adoption of the following ordinance is in the interest of the public
<br /> heal th, morals, wel fare and sa fe ty; now, there fore,
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br /> TEXAS:
<br /> SErTION 1. That the Future Land Use Plan (Map) of the Master Plan
<br /> of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended as to certain land
<br /> uses presently existing (low density residential, medium density
<br /> residential, high density residential; floa ting commercial and
<br /> floating neighborhood commercial) for a portion of the area more
<br /> particularly described by metes and bounds in Exhibit 1,
<br /> which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes, so
<br /> that the land uses for said area shall henceforth be as set forth
<br /> in Exhibit 2 which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all
<br /> purposes (low density residential, med i um density residential,
<br /> high density residential, office and professional, commercial,
<br /> industrial, and public).
<br /> SECTION 2. That the Future Land Use Plan (Map) of the Master Plan
<br /> of said City is hereby expanded to add additional area thereto which is
<br /> located without the City limits of said City but within the two (2)
<br /> mile extra terri torial jurisdiction thereof, said additional area
<br /> being located within a portion of that area more particularly
<br /> described by metes and bounds 1n attached Exhibit 1, and said
<br /> additional area shall henceforth be a part of said Future Land Use
<br /> Plan (Map) of the Master Plan of said City, and the land uses therefor
<br /> shall be as set forth in attached Exhibit 2 (low density
<br /> residential, medium density residential, high density residential,
<br /> office and professional, commercial, industrial, and public) .
<br /> SErTION 3. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days
<br /> frÅ’TI and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of
<br /> general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City
<br /> 0 f San Marcos, Texas.
<br /> PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading October 28, 1985.
<br /> PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading November 14, 1985.
