RESOLUTION 2014 -18R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO <br />SMITH CONTRACTING COMPANY, INC. FOR THE CHEATHAM AND <br />RIVERSIDE DRAINAGE AND PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT IN THE BID AMOUNT OF $772,891.90 CONTINGENT UPON <br />THE BIDDER'S TIMELY SUBMISSION OF SUFFICIENT BONDS AND <br />INSURANCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY'S BID DOCUMENTS <br />FOR THE PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS <br />DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS <br />PART 1. The award of a construction contract to Smith Contracting Company, Inc. <br />for the Cheatham and Riverside Drainage and Pavement Improvements Project (IFB 214 -235) in <br />the bid amount of $772,891.90 is approved contingent upon the bidder's timely submission of <br />sufficient bonds and insurance in accordance with the City's bid documents for the Project. <br />PART 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute the contract <br />documents on behalf of the City. <br />PART 3.
