,
CITY OF SAN MARCOS
December 13, 1985
Mr. R. M. Tintsman
Director of Administration
Lower Colorado River Authority
P. Q. Box 220
Austin, Texas 78767
RE: Purchase by City of San Marcos of
LCRA Local Electric Distribution System
Dear Mr. Tintsman:
This letter formally acknowledges your letter dated September
30, 1985. You have already met personally with City of San
Marcos legal and engineering consultants and begun the
negotiation process through data exchange. Although the City's
interest in the purchase of the local electric distribution
system is a known fact to you now, this letter will serve as
written confirmation of the City's desire to pursue
negotiations for the purchase of the system and qonsumation of
necessary agreements related to the proposed purchase.
Based upon conversations with you and your staff on November
25, 1985, at LCRA's offices in Austin, the City Council has
scheduled a meeting at 7:00 p.m., on December 16, 1985 to
consider the attached resolution. You and any LCRA designees
you may wish are cordially invited to attend the meeting, as
the Council Members may have questions to address to you.
It is my understanding that in the event the attached
resolution is passed by the City Council, that LCRA management
will recommend that the LCRA time constraints contained in your
letter dated September 30, 1985, be modified and revised to
reasonable, mutually agreeable dates consistent with the
reality of closing the purchase and negotiation of related
agreements. If this is not the case, contact me upon receipt
of this letter.
city hall' 630 e. hopkins . san marcos' texas' 78666 . 512/353-4444
