<br /> FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, IMPROVING AND <br /> EQUIPPING A PUBLIC WORKS COMPLEX FOR SAID CITY; AND <br /> SHALL SAID CITY COUNCIL BE AUTHORIZED TO LEVY AND <br /> CAUSE TO BE ASSESSED AND COLLECTED ANNUA L AD <br /> VA LOREM TAXES IN AN AMOUNT SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE <br /> A NNUA L INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AND PROVIDE A SINKING <br /> FUND TO PAY SAID BONDS AT MATURITY? <br /> PROPOSITION NO. 9 <br /> SHALL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID <br /> CITY IN ONE OR MORE SERIES OR ISSUES, IN THE <br /> AGGREGA TE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF $6,200,000, WITH THE <br /> BONDS OF EACH SUCH SERIES OR ISSUE, RESPECTIVELY, <br /> TO MATURE SERIALLY WITHIN NOT TO EXCEED 40 YEARS <br /> FROM THEIR DATE, AND TO BE SOLD AT SUCH PRICE OR <br /> PRICES AND BEAR INTEREST AT SUCH RATES OR RATES AS <br /> SHALL BE DETERMINED WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF SAID CITY AT THE TIME OF ISSUANCE, <br /> FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING <br /> ADDITIONS, IMPROVEMENTS AND EXTENSIONS TO, AND <br /> EQUIPPING, THE CITY'S WATERWORKS SYSTEM; WITH SAID <br /> BONDS TO BE SECURED BY AND PAYABLE FROM A LIEN ON <br /> AND PLEDGE OF THE NET REVENUES FROM THE OPERATION <br /> OF SAID CITY'S WATERWORKS AND SEWER SYSTEM? <br /> Section 2. The election precincts and polling places <br />for said election, together with the persons hereby <br />appointed to serve as Presiding Judge and Alternate <br />Presiding Judge for each of said polling places shall be and <br />are hereby established and designated in Exhibit "A" <br />attached hereto, which is incorporated herein by reference <br />and made a part of this Ordinance for all purposes. Each <br />Presiding Judge shall appoint not less than two (2) clerks <br />to serve and assist in holding said election; provided that <br />if the Presiding Judge of a polling place serves, the <br />Alternate Presiding Judge of such polling place shall be one <br />of the clerks. <br /> Section 3. On election day the polls shall be open <br />from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.. <br /> Section 4. Absentee voting shall be conducted by the <br />City Secretary in the City Hall, 630 East Hopkins, San <br />Marcos, Texas 78666, within said City. A branch office for <br />conducting absentee voting by personal appearance in said <br />election is hereby established at the Administration <br />Building, San Marcos Consolidated Independent School <br />District, 501 South L.B.J. Drive, within said City. For the <br />period absentee voting is permitted by law, the hours <br />designated for absentee voting shall be from 8:00 A.M. to <br />5:00 P.M. on each day except Saturdays, Sundays and official <br />State holidays. The persons hereby appointed to the Special <br />Canvassing Board for absentee voting are shown in Exhibit <br />"A" attached hereto. The Presiding Judge thereof shall <br />appoint at least two ( 2) clerks who shall serve with the <br />Presiding Judge as such Special Canvassing Board as provided <br />by law; provided that if the Presiding Judge actually ser- <br />ves, the Alternate Presiding Judge shall be one of the <br />clerks. <br /> Section 5. An electronic voting system, as defined in <br />Article 7.15, V.A.T.S. Election Code, shall be used in said <br />election. Said system shall be used for all absentee voting <br />as well as for all precinct voting conducted on election <br />day. Sufficient voting equipment to accomodate the voters <br />shall be provided for absentee voting and at each of the <br /> -4- <br />
