<br /> Section 7. The election materials enumerated in <br />Ch.213, Acts of the 64th Legislature of Texas, Regular <br />Session 1975, shall be printed in both English and Spanish <br />for use at each polling place and for absentee voting. <br /> Section 8. All resident qualified electors of said <br />City shall be permitted to vote at said election. <br /> Section 9. Notice of said election shall be given by <br />posting substantial copies of this Ordinance in both English <br />and Spanish at the City Hall and at three (3) other places <br />in said City, not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the <br />date set for said election; and substantial copies of this <br />Ordinance in both English and Spanish shall be published on <br />the same day in each of two ( 2) successive weeks in a <br />newspaper of general circulation in said City, the date of <br />the first publication to be not less than fourteen (14) days <br />prior to the date set for said election. <br /> Section 10. The Ordinance passed by this City Council <br />on January 30, 1984, ordering said bond election, is hereby <br />repealed. <br /> Section 11. The public importance of this measure and <br />the fact that it is to the interest of the City and its <br />inhabitants to provide funds for the improvements herein <br />contemplated at the earliest possible date for the immediate <br />preservation of the public peace, health and safetyconsti- <br />tute an emergency and an imperat i ve public necessity, <br />requiring that this Ordinance take effect and be in full <br />force immediately upon its passage; all ordinance and/or <br />Charter rules requiring ordinances to be read on three (3) <br />several days are hereby dispensed with for the purpose of <br />adopting this Ordinance as an emergency ordinance; and this <br />Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from <br />and after its final passage as provided by the Charter of <br />said City. <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this the 13th day of February, <br />1984. <br /> @~-- <br /> --~-, "-" <br /> Mayor, City of San Marcos, Texas <br />ATTEST: <br /> , <br />Texas <br /> D AS TO LEGALITY: <br /> San <br /> Marcos, <br />(CITY SEAL) <br />Published in the DAILY RECORD February 19, 1984. <br />Published in its entirety in the DAILY RECORD March 18, 1984 and <br />March 25, 1984. <br /> -6- <br />
