<br /> 68 <br /> RESOLUTION 1984-10 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE <br /> HOLDING OF A FRITO LAY "TOUR OF TEXAS" <br /> BICYCLE RACE IN SAID CITY ON SUNDAY, MARCH 4, <br /> 1984; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO <br /> TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH FRITO LAY, INC. <br /> GOVERNING THE USE OF CITY STREETS FOR SAID <br /> RACE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Frito Lay "Tour of Texas" is directly <br />linked with the United States Cycling Federation and <br />is designated as the Olympic Development Cycling Camp <br />by the Federation; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the "Tour of Texas" is a series of eigh- <br />teen races to be held in various locations around the <br />State of Texas during the month of March; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the said Frito Lay "Tour of Texas" desires <br />to conduct a bicycle race upon the streets of the City <br />of San Marcos on Sunday, March 4, 1984 between the hours <br />of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Frito Lay, Inc. has executed an Agreement <br />governing the use of said streets for said race; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas finds and determines that such bicycle race is in <br />the interest and welfare of the citizens of said City; <br />now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That a Frito Lay "Tour of Texas" bi- <br />cycle race is hereby authorized to be held upon the <br />streets of the City of San Marcos, Texas designated <br />on Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein for all purposes, on Sunday, March 4, 1984 be- <br />tween the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. <br /> PART 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas be, and she is hereby, authorized to execute the <br />Agreement For Use Of Streets For A Bicycle Race on <br />behalf of said City, a copy of which is attached here- <br />to as Exhibit B and incorporated herein for all in- <br />tents and purposes. <br /> PART 3.
