<br /> 65 <br /> RESOLUTION 1984-29R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CLOSING LOWMAN AIRFIELD TO <br /> ALL AIR TRAFFIC AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, Lowman Airfield, formally designated as the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport, is and has been in an unsafe <br />condition; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Lowman Airfield has been officially closed to <br />the public since December of 1980 according to Federal <br />Aviation Administration records; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the runway of Lowman Airfield is in poor repair <br />and condition; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to reãuce any liabilities it <br />might have for injuries and property damage at Lowman <br />Airfield; and, <br /> WHEREAS, neither the City nor the Federal Aviation <br />Administration intends to further develop or use Lowman <br />Airfield as an airport; therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That Lowman Airfield remain closed to the <br />public and be closed to any and all air traffic on and after 12:00 Noon <br />on June '7, 1984. <br /> PART 2. That the City Manager of the City of San Marcos, <br />be, and he is hereby authorized, to take any and all actions <br />necessary to further effect the closing of Lowman Airfield on <br />behalf of the City. <br /> PART 3.
