<br /> 24 <br /> ORDINANCE 1984-61 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 9, <br /> SECTION 9-1.1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br /> SAID CITY TO ADOPT THE 1984 EDITION OF THE <br /> NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> SECTION 1. That Chapter 9, Section 9-1.1 of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of San Marcos is hereby amended to read <br />as follows: <br /> Sec. 9-1.1: National code adopted. <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City of San Marcos, <br /> Texas, for the purpose of establishing rules and reg- <br /> ulations governing wiring and design protection, <br /> wiring methods and materials, equipment for general <br /> use, special occupancies, special equipment, special <br /> conditions, and communication systems, that certain <br /> electrical code known as the National Electrical Code, <br /> 1984 edition, published by the National Fire Protection <br /> Association, Batterymarch Park, Quincy, Massachusetts <br /> 02269, now and as hereafter amended, a copy of which <br /> said code has been and is now filed in the office of the <br /> city secretary of the City of San Marcos, the same <br /> being hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if <br /> set out in full length herein, and from and after May <br /> 25, 1984, the effective date of this section, the pro- <br /> visions thereof shall be controlling in the afore- <br /> mentioned specifications, materials, and methods within <br /> the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas <br /> and its extraterritorial jurisdiction, subject to the <br /> laws of the State of Texas. <br /> SECTION 2.
