<br /> 34 <br /> CONTRACT FOR <br /> ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> STATE OF TEXAS S <br /> COUNTY OF HAYS 5 <br /> This contract entered into this 30 day of May <br /> , <br /> 1984, by and between the CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, hereinafter called the <br /> Owner, and FREESE AND NICHOLS, I NC ., of Austin, Texas, Registered <br /> Professional Engineers, hereinafter called the Engineer. <br /> Witnesseth, that in consideration of the covenants and agreements <br /> herein contained, the parties hereto do mutually agree as follows: <br /> 1. Employment of Engineer: The Owner hereby employs the Engineer and <br /> the Engi neer agrees to perform professional engineering services herein- <br /> after set forth in connection with improvements to the San ~1arcos <br /> Wastewater Treatment Plant to be undertaken by the Owner, hereinafter <br /> called the Project. <br /> 2. Character and Extent of Services: The Engineer shall render <br /> engineering services which include the following: <br /> a. Designs, Plans and Specifications: Designs, Plans and <br /> Sped fi cati ons will be prepared for the recommended <br /> improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant as described <br /> in the approved amended EPA Facil ity Pl an dated May, 1984. <br /> This includes a 10,000 gpm Main Lift Station, a 20-inch force <br /> main to the wastewater treatment plant, wastewater collection <br /> systems for Fai r1 awn Addi ti on and Spri ng Lake Hi 11 s and the <br /> sewer system rehabi 1 i tati on recommended in the Sewer System <br /> Evaluation Survey dated June, 1981. The Engi neer wi 11 make <br /> field surveys; advise with the Owner as to the number of <br /> borings, test pits, and other foundation explorations <br /> necessary to gi ve a general i ndi cati on as to the type and <br /> kind of subsurface conditi ons whi ch can be expected at <br /> project site, and to observe the borings, test pits, and <br /> other foundation explorations which the Owner deems <br /> necessary; prepare working drawings and sped fi cati ons for <br /> the project, prepare forms of proposals; prepare applications <br /> for licenses and/or approvals from local and state <br /> authorities; attend conferences and assist in the <br /> coordination of the work with other interested parties. <br /> b. User Sewer Charge: The Engi neer shall develop a User Sewer <br /> Charge to submit with the Plans and Specifications. <br /> 1 <br />
