<br /> OPERATION WATER CONSERVATION <br /> A REGIONAL CONSERVATION PROGRAM <br /> CONCEPTUAL PLAN <br />OVERALL OBJECTIVE <br /> Make the citizens of the reglon aware that there is a <br />regional water problem and that a regional approach has to <br />be taken to cope with the problem. This will be carried <br />out through the actions of "Operation Water Conservation". <br />Operation Water Conservation will be co-chaired by the <br />Edwards Underground Water District and the City of San <br />Antonio, and will consist of cities, counties, river <br />authorities, soil and water conservation districts, and <br />water purveyors who will formulate policy and implement <br />Operation Water Conservation. In addition, Chambers of <br />Conunerce, the media, the Soil Conservation Service~ <br />the Texas Department of Water Resources, and the Alamo Area <br />Council of Governments will act in an educational and <br />advisory capacity to Operation Water Conservation. <br />FUNCTIONS OF OPERATION WATER CONSERVATION <br /> Organize and take the necessary steps through conservation <br />measures to cause water conservation to come about. <br />FUNCTIONS OF COORDINATION STAFF <br /> Coordinate the functions of Operation Water Conservation. <br />Supply members with: <br /> -1- <br />
