<br /> Engineer responsible for construction means, methods, <br /> techniques, sequences or procedures or for safety <br /> precautions or programs or for Contractor(s) I failure <br /> to perform the construction work in accordance with <br /> the Contract Documents. <br /> e. Subsurface Investigations and Laboratory Tests: The <br /> Engineer will provide the Owner with advice, when <br /> requested, with respect to the making of all subsur- <br /> fa~e investigations, including borings, test pits, <br /> soil-resistivity surveys, and other subsurface explora- <br /> tions; however, the making of such investigations <br /> and the interpretations of data and reports by special <br /> consultants are not a part of the services to be rendered <br /> by the Engineer, and the cost therefore shall be paid <br /> by the Owner. <br /> The Engineer shall monitor and review the work of <br /> testing laboratories and inspection bureaus required <br /> for the testing or inspection of materials, etc., <br /> for the Project, but the cost of such laboratory tests <br /> or inspection shall be paid by the Owner. <br /> f. <br /> The Engineer shall prepare "center-line type" descriptions <br /> for the procurement of right-of-way along pipeline <br /> route surveys for the design of the Project, provided <br /> such descriptions may be developed from the design <br /> surveys. If additional surveys are required to de- <br /> termine property corners in connection with the de- <br /> scriptions for the right-of-way easements, the cost <br /> of such surveys shall be paid by the Owner and are <br /> not a part of this Agreement. All easements required <br /> s ha 11 be furnished and purchased by the Owner. <br /> The Engineer will indicate to the Owner the approximate <br /> boundaries of land which may be required for the Pro- <br /> ject. Surveys for the procurement of land and services <br /> in connection with proceedings for the condemnation <br /> of land are not a part of this contract. The Owner <br /> shall pay for costs of land surveys and shall compensate <br /> 4. <br />
