<br /> M'1UHH1F.NT 1m. 2 TO <br /> COtHRACT FOR ENGINEERHIG SERVICES <br /> The Contract for Engineering Services entered into on the 7th day of May, <br /> 1979. by the CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS and FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC. shall <br /> he amended as set forth hereinunder. The said Contract js attached as <br /> Exhibit A. <br /> Section 2. Character and Extent of Engineering Services <br /> Add g. Addi ti.onal Services <br /> Alternative design concepts shall be developed for the main lift <br /> station considering utilization of existing plans developed in 1979 <br /> with necessary modifications versus a complete new design based on <br /> current data and criteria. The alternative of incorporating the <br /> existing lift station into the design alternatives will also be <br /> exploreti. Cost estimates for construction and operation and <br /> recommendations will be included in the scope of work in developing the <br /> alternatives. <br /> Section 3. Compensation to Engineer <br /> b. Designs, Plans and Specifications <br /> Delete the following: <br /> The compensation for services in connection with furnishing Step II <br /> design, plans and specifications as presented in Paragraph 2.D shall be <br /> determined by mutual consent at the time an application is submitted by <br /> the Owner for Step II grant funds. <br /> Add the following: <br /> The Engineer shall bp compensi1ted a lu¡r¡p sum of $308,664 (Three hundred <br /> eight thousand six hundred sixty-four dollars) for services described <br /> in Section 2b. above, excluding the main lift station. <br /> Add d. Additional Services <br /> - <br /> The compensation for the Additional Services outlined in Section 2.g. <br /> shall be as follows: <br /> The Engineer shall be compensated on the basis of the actual salary <br /> cost of all personnel required times a multiplier of 2.3 for offi.ce <br /> personnel. Salary cost is defined as the cost of salaries of <br /> engineers, draftsmen, stenooraphers, surveymen, clerks, laborers, etc., <br /> for timE' directly chargf'able to the project, plus social securi ty <br /> cont ri bu ti ons, unemp 1 oymf'nt colTIppnSò ti on insurance, retirement <br /> benefits, medical and insurance benefits, sick leavp, vacation and <br /> holiday pay applicable thereto. (Salary cos~ is equal to 1.39 times <br /> salary payments for 1982. This factor is adjusted annually.) The <br /> Engineer shall also be paid the actual direct expense of providing such <br />
