<br /> 86 <br /> ORDINANCE 1984-81 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br /> SECTION 2-31 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br /> OF SAID CITY TO AMEND THE NUMBER OF <br /> PRESCRIBED POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICA- <br /> TION OF POLICEMEN AND FIREMEN EMPLOYED <br /> BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND <br /> DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. That Section 2-31 of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 2-31. Job clasification and salary. <br /> There is hereby prescribed the following number of <br /> positions for each classification in the police and fire <br /> departments of the City of San Marcos, Texas: <br /> Number of <br /> Positions <br /> Classification Authorized <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> Police Officer (including) 18 <br /> Trainees) <br /> Corporal 10 <br /> Police Sergeant 4 <br /> Police Lieutenant 2 <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> Firefighter (including 15 <br /> Trainees) <br /> Fire Lieutenant 6 <br /> Fire Captain 3 <br /> SECTION 2. 'rha t the importance of this Ordinance <br />creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity so <br />that the provisions of the charter requiring that ordinances <br />shall be read at three separate meetings and that no <br />ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten <br />(10) days following the date of its final passage be <br />suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and <br />this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and <br />effect from and after its adoption and after its publication <br />in a newspaper of general circulation within the City. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 27 day of August , <br />1984. <br /> Z/', (~~~ <br /> ~ -- <br /> Emmie Craddock <br /> Mayor <br />
