<br /> 88 <br /> RESOLUTION 1984-71R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DIRECTING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER TO FORMALLY ADVISE THE CITY <br /> OF KENSINGTON AND NORWOOD, AUSTRALIA, <br /> THAT THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS WISHES TO <br /> ESTABLISH A SISTER CITY ARRANGEMENT AS <br /> PART OF THE 1986 SESQUICENTENNIAL <br /> CELEBRATION OF THE RESPECTIVE STATES OF <br /> BOTH CITIES AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />desires to establish a Sister City arrangement with the City <br />of Kensington and Norwood, Australia, as part of the 1986 <br />sesquicentennial celebration of the respective States of both <br />cities; and, <br />WHEREAS, said City Council looks forward to learning more <br />about the City of Kensington and Norwood; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. That the City Manager, A. C. Gonzalez, be, and he <br />is hereby, directed to formally advise the City of Kensington and <br />Norwood, Australia that the City of San Marcos, Texas wishes to <br />establish a Sister City arrangement as part of the 1986 sesqui- <br />centennial celebration of the respective States of both cities. <br />PART 2.
