<br /> 43 <br /> RESOLUTION 1984-84R <br />A RESOLUTIO~ OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />HARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING SAID CITY'S ONE-YEAR PARTICI- <br />PATION IN PURCHASING PROGRAMS OF THE STATE PURCHASING <br />AND GENERAL SERVICES CO~~ISSION FOR THE ACQUISITION <br />OF FOUR (4) POLICE PURSUIT VEHICLES; REQUESTING THE <br />STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COÞWISSION TO <br />INCLUDE SAID CITY'S STATED NEED FOR SUCH VEHICLES ON <br />THE COMMISSION' S I-Ú~iJUAL CON'l'HACTS FOR THOSE ITEMS; <br />AUTHORIZING Aim DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN <br />AND DELIVLR ALL NECESSARY REQUESTS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS <br />n~ CONNECTION THEREWITH; DIRECTING THAT ALL DECISIONS <br />OF THE CITY MANAGER RELATING TO SAID PURCHASING PRO- <br />GRAMS SHALL BE AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL; <br />PROVIDING THAT SAID CITY WILL PURCHASE SUCH VEHICLES <br />FROM THE CONTRACTS MADE PURSUANT TO THIS RESOLUTION <br />AND ARTICLE 664-7, V.T.C.S., EXCEPT IN EMERGENCIES <br />AND THAT SAID CITY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT <br />DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR UNDER EACH SUCH CONTRACT AND <br />WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VENDOR'S COMPLIANCE WITH <br />ALL CONDITIONS OF DELIVERY AND QUALITY OF PURCHASED <br />ITEMS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHE REAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, pursuant <br />to the authority granted by Article 664-7, Vernon's <br />Texas Civil Statutes, as amended, desires to participate <br />in certain below described purchasing programs of the <br />State Purchasing and General Services Commission; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of said City is of the <br />opinion that participation in these programs will be <br />highly beneficial to the taxpayers of this City through <br />the anticipated savings to be realized~ now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY r1:lŒ CI'2Y COm~CIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TKU\.S: <br />PAnel' 1. That the City of San Marcos, Texas, does <br />hereby request the State Purchasing and General Services <br />Commission to include said City's stated need for four <br />(4) Police Pursuit Vehicles on the Commission's annual <br />contracts for those items, whereby the City may be al- <br />lowed to purchase those items from the annual contract <br />in question. <br />PART 2. That said City's participation in such <br />purchasing programs of the State Purchasing and General <br />Services Commission for the acquisition of such Police <br />Pursuit Vehicles is hereby authorized. <br />PART 3. That the City Manager, A.C. Gonzalez, is <br />hereby authorized and directed to sign and deliver all <br />necessary requests and other documents in connection <br />therewith for and on behalf of said City. <br />PART 4. That all decisions of said City Manager <br />relating to said purchasing programs will be directed <br />by the City Council. <br />PART 5. That the City of San Marcos, Texas, will <br />purchase said Police Pursuit Vehicles from the contracts <br />
