44 RESOLUTION 1984-85R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING SAID CITY'S ONE- YEAR PARTICIPATION IN PURCHASING PROGRM1S OF THE STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COM- MISSION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF VISUAL EDUCATION EQUIPMENT; REQUESTING THE STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES CO~~ISSION TO INCLUDE SAID CITY'S STATED NEED FOR CONTRACT CLASS NO. 880, VISUAL EDUCATION EQUIPMENT, ON THE COMMISSION'S ANNUAL CONTRACTS FOR THOSE ITEMS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AND DE- LIVER ALL NECESSARY REQUESTS AND OTHER DOCU- MENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; DIRECTING THAT ALL DECISIONS OF THE CITY MANAGER RELATING TO SAID PURCHASING PROGRAMS SHALL BE AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL; PROVIDING THAT SAID CITY WILL PURCHASE SUCH ITEHS FROM THE CONTRACTS MADE PURSUANT TO THIS RESOLUTION AND ARTICLE 664-7, V.T.C.S., EXCEPT IN EMERGENCIES,AND THAT SAID CITY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR UNDER EACH SUCH CONTRACT AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VENDOR'S COM- PLIANCE WITH ALL CONDITIONS OF DELIVERY AND QUALITY OF PURCHASED ITEMS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. vŒEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, pursuant to the authority granted by Article 664-7, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended, desires to participate in cer- tain below described purchasing programs of the State Pur- chasing and General Services Commission; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of said City is of the opinion that participation in these programs will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers of this City through the anticipated savings to be realized; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the City of San Marcos, Texas, does hereby request the State Purchasing and General Services Commission to include said City's stated need for Contract Class No. 880, Visual Education Equipment, on the Commis- sion's annual contracts for those items, whereby the City may be allowed to purchase those items from the annual contract in question. PART 2. That said City's participation in such pur- chasing programs of the State Purchasing and General Ser- vices Commission for the acquisition of such visual educa- tion equipment is hereby authorized. PART 3. That the City Manager, A.C. Gonzalez, is here- by authorized and directed to sign and deliver all neces- sary requests and other documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of said City. PART 4. That all decisions of said City Manager re- lating to said purchasing programs will be directed by the City Council. PART 5. That the City of San Marcos, Texas, will pur- chase said visual education equipment from the contracts
