<br /> 49 <br /> RESOLUTION 1984-89R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ESTABLISHING A POLICY TO <br /> BE EFFECTIVE FR~1 AND AFTER THE ADOPTION OF <br /> THIS RESOLUTION TO APPOINT AN INDIVIDUAL TO <br /> NO MORE THAN ONE PERMANENT COMMISSION OR <br /> BOARD POSITION OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS EX- <br /> CEPT WHERE DUPLICATE APPOINTMENTS ARE AUTH- <br /> ORIZED OR REQUIRED BY LAW, ORDINANCE OR <br /> CHARTER AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br /> Texas hereby finds that it will be in the interest and <br /> welfare of the citizens of San Marcos to involve more <br /> such citizens and afford them the opportunity for in- <br /> creased participation in the memberships of boards and <br /> commissions of the City of San Marcos, Texas; now, there- <br /> fore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That there is hereby established a policy <br /> to be effective from and after the adoption of this Reso- <br /> lution to appoint an individual to no more than one per- <br /> manent commission or board position of said City except <br /> where duplicate appointments are authorized or required <br /> by law, ordinance or charter. <br /> PART 2.
