RESOLUTION 2014 -37R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY AND ESPEY CONSULTANTS, INC. D/B /A RPS FOR THE <br />PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES IN <br />CONNECTION WITH THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT <br />DRAINAGE PROJECT IN A NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $61,620.00 <br />WHICH INCLUDES AN INCREASE OF $13,060.00 ABOVE THE <br />PREVIOUS CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $48,560.00; RATIFYING THE <br />CITY MANAGER'S EXECUTION OF THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS <br />DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AUTHORIZATION OF CHANGE IN <br />SERVICES NO. 1 ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS <br />1. On January 17, 2012 the City entered into an agreement (the "Agreement ") with <br />Espey Consultants, Inc. d/b /a RPS (the "Engineer ") for the provision of professional engineering <br />services in connection with the San Marcos Municipal Airport Drainage Project (the "Project ") in <br />a not -to- exceed amount of $48,560.00. <br />2. The City wishes to revise the drainage system to resolve the issue of water <br />ponding in the Project area and to accommodate future growth as identified in the latest Airport <br />Master Plan, which will result in an increase of $13,060.00 to the Agreement. <br />3. The approval of Authorization of Change in Services ( "ACIS ") No. 1 for <br />$13,060.00 will cause the Agreement to increase the previous Agreement amount from <br />$48,560.00 to $61,620.00, and will trigger the need for City Council's approval of the <br />Agreement <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The Agreement between the City and the Engineer dated January 17, 2012 <br />for the provision of professional engineering services in the total amount of $61,620.00 which <br />includes an increase of $13,060.00 above the previous contract amount of $48,560.00 is <br />approved. <br />PART 2. The City Manager's execution of the Agreement on behalf of the City is <br />ratified and the City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute ACIS No. 1 on behalf of <br />the City. <br />
