<br /> 98 <br /> ORDINANCE 1984-103 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER <br /> 2, ARTICLE IX, SECTION 2-136 OF THE CODE <br /> OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO CHANGE THE <br /> MEMBERSHIP OF THE SUNSET ADVISORY COMMISSION <br /> FROM NINE (9) MEMBERS TO SEVEN (7) MEMBERS <br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 2-136 of Article IX of <br />Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, be amended to read as follows: <br /> ARTICLE IX. <br /> SAN MARCOS SUNSET ORDINANCE <br />. .. <br />Sec. 2-136. Composition; appointment of members. <br />There is hereby established the Sunset Advisory <br />Commission. Such commission shall be composed of seven <br />(7) citizens of the City of San Marcos, appointed by the <br />city council. Said members shall be appointed to <br />two-year staggered terms with the terms of four (4) of <br />such commission members expiring June 30 of odd-numbered <br />years and the terms of three (3) of such commission <br />members expiring June 30 of even-numbered years. The <br />length of terms of the original commission members shall <br />be determined by the casting of lots and no member of <br />the commission shall have his or her term expire June <br />30, 1984. The members of the commission shall at their <br />first meeting, within thirty (30) days after their <br />appointment, elect a chairperson and a vice-chairperson <br />from their membership. After one year from the date of <br />formation, all officers shall have as a requirement of <br />office at least one year of service on the commission. <br />The commission may elect, from its membership, such <br />other officers and committees as i.t may, from -time to <br />time, determine necessary for the proper performance of <br />its duties. Officers and committee members shall serve <br />one-year terms and may be reappointed. <br />. .. <br />SECTION 2.
