<br /> DUTIES, RESfDNSIBILITIES AND LIMITATIONS <br /> OF THE AUTHORITY OF RESIDENT PROJECT ENGINEER <br /> A. GENERl\L <br /> Resident Project Engineer is Owner's Agent and will act as directed <br /> by and under the supervision of Owner's Director of Environment and <br /> Engineering. He will confer with said Director regarding his <br /> actions. His dealings with matters pertaining to the on-site v-brk <br /> shall in general be with said Director, Contractor and <br /> Engineer. His dealings with sub-contractors shall only be through <br /> or wi th the full knowledge of Contractor or his superintendent. <br /> He will generally communicate with Engineer only through or as <br /> directed by Director. <br /> B. DUTIES AND RESfDNSIBILITIES <br /> Resident Project Engineer will: <br /> 1. Schedules: Review the prcgress schedule, schedule of Shop <br /> Drawings submissions and schedule of values prepared by <br /> Contractor and consult with Engineer concerning their <br /> acceptabili ty. <br /> 2. Conferences: Attend preconstruction confe rences. Arrange a <br /> schedule of prcgress meetings and other job conferences as <br /> required in consultation with Director and Engineer and notify <br /> those expected to attend in advance. Attend ITeetings, and <br /> maintain and circulate copies of minutes thereof. <br /> 3. Liaison: <br /> a. Serve as Director's liaison with Contractor and Eng ineer, <br /> working principally through Contractor's superintendent and <br /> assist him in understanding the intent of the Contract <br /> CO:::: wne n t s. Act as Owner's liaison with Contractor and <br /> Engineer when Contractor's operations affect Owner's <br /> on-site operations. <br /> b. As requested by Director, assist in obtaining from Engineer <br /> additional details or information, when required at the job <br /> site for proper execution of the \¥Jrk. <br /> c. Alert Contractor directly and through his superintendent, <br /> to the hazards involved in accepting or acting upon <br /> instructions from Engineer or others, except <br /> instructions transmitted through Director or himself. <br />
