4 Regular Meeting May 6, 1985 Page 4 Mr. Coddington moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF THAT PORTION OF THE STREET KNOWN AS "REDWOOD ROAD" FROM I-35 EAST TO HIGHWAY 123 THAT IS LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY AND ORDERING THE CITY SECRETARY, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC NaRKS AND PLANNING DIRECTOR TO ENTER SAID CHANGE IN AND UPON OFFICIAL RECORDS AND MAPS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion. The Council was advised the County Commissioners had approved the changing of the name from Redwood to Wonder World for the portion of the roadway which is out of the city limits (approximately 800 feet in the vicinity of Highway 123. It was mentioned there was historical significance in the naming of Redwood Road. It was also discussed by the Council that eventually the roadway would be renamed when it is made into a loop around the City. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Kissler. NAY: Coddington, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Nicola. ABSTAIN: None. The motion failed. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING ORDINANCE 1984-86 ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 13, 1984 WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIM- ATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1984 AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1985, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE; TO REVISE SAID ESTIM- ATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS; ADOPTING SAID REVI- SIONS AND ESTIMATES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Farr moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Mayor Craddock seconded the motion. Mr. Farr moved to amend the Ordin- ance to add Exhibit A-I, which includes revisions in the Parks and Recreation and Special Services Departments and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Farr, Craddock, Kissler, Nicola. NAY: Coddington, Guerra. ABSTAIN: None. Mr. Coddington moved to amend the Ordinance of add $16,000 for the re- maining 84-85 fiscal year for an aid for the Mayor and Council. The motion died for lack of a second. The Council directed further infor- mation come to them at third reading regarding the security of election equipment and a breakdown by department of furniture requested in Klipple proposal.
