<br />4 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting May 6, 1985 Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Coddington moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF THAT PORTION OF <br />THE STREET KNOWN AS "REDWOOD ROAD" FROM I-35 EAST TO <br />HIGHWAY 123 THAT IS LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE <br />LIMITS OF SAID CITY AND ORDERING THE CITY SECRETARY, <br />DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC NaRKS AND PLANNING DIRECTOR TO ENTER <br />SAID CHANGE IN AND UPON OFFICIAL RECORDS AND MAPS; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Coddington seconded the motion. The Council was advised the County <br />Commissioners had approved the changing of the name from Redwood to <br />Wonder World for the portion of the roadway which is out of the city <br />limits (approximately 800 feet in the vicinity of Highway 123. It was <br />mentioned there was historical significance in the naming of Redwood <br />Road. It was also discussed by the Council that eventually the roadway <br />would be renamed when it is made into a loop around the City. On roll <br />call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Kissler. <br /> <br />NAY: Coddington, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Nicola. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />The motion failed. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING ORDINANCE 1984-86 ADOPTED <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 1984 WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIM- <br />ATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE <br />UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1984 AND ENDING ON <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1985, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS <br />FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE; TO REVISE SAID ESTIM- <br />ATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS; ADOPTING SAID REVI- <br />SIONS AND ESTIMATES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and <br />Mayor Craddock seconded the motion. Mr. Farr moved to amend the Ordin- <br />ance to add Exhibit A-I, which includes revisions in the Parks and <br />Recreation and Special Services Departments and Ms. Kissler seconded <br />the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Farr, Craddock, Kissler, Nicola. <br /> <br />NAY: Coddington, Guerra. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Coddington moved to amend the Ordinance of add $16,000 for the re- <br />maining 84-85 fiscal year for an aid for the Mayor and Council. The <br />motion died for lack of a second. The Council directed further infor- <br />mation come to them at third reading regarding the security of election <br />equipment and a breakdown by department of furniture requested in Klipple <br />proposal. On roll call for approval of the Ordinance on second reading <br />the following vote was recorded: <br />
