28 ORDINANCE 1984-110 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE APPRAISAL ROLL FOR 1984 WITH TAX AMOUNTS ENTERED THEREON BY THE TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR AS THE 1984 TAX ROLL OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, passed an ordinance on September 13, 1984 setting the tax rate for said City for the 1984 tax year; and, WHEREAS, the Tax Assessor-Collector for said City, upon receipt of notice of the setting of said tax rate, has calculated the tax imposed on each property included on the appraisal roll for said City and entered the amounts of tax on said ro 11; and, WHEREAS, the Tax Assessor-Collector for said City has submitted the said appraisal roll to the governing body of said City for approval in accordance with §26.09(e), Texas Property Tax Code¡ now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the 1984 appraisal roll as submitted by the Tax Assessor-Collector for the City of San Marcos, Texas, with tax amounts entered thereon as calculated by said Tax Assessor-Collector based on the tax rate heretofore set by ordinance on September 13, 1984 is in all things approved and shall henceforth constitute the tax roll for the City of San Marcos, Texas, for the year 1984. SECTION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of the Charter requiring that ordinances shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten ( 10) days following the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and after its publication within the City.
