<br /> Income: Economic benefit received. <br /> Source of income: Any business entity, employment, <br /> investment or activity which earned or produced income, <br /> including interest, dividends, royalties or rents. <br /> SECTION 2. That Section 2-82 of the Code of Ordinances, <br /> City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 2-82. Financial Disclosure Statement Required. <br /> (a) Between April 15 and April 30 of each <br /> year every city official shall file a <br /> sworn financial disclosure statement <br /> with the city secretary reflecting the <br /> financial situation of the official as <br /> of December 31 of the previous year and <br /> the official's financial activity between <br /> January 1 to December 31 of the previous <br /> year. <br /> (b) A newly appointed or elected city official <br /> shall file a sworn financial disclosure <br /> statement with the city secretary within <br /> thirty (30) days from the date the position <br /> is assumed. The statement shall reflect <br /> the financial condition as of that date <br /> and financial activity for the previous <br /> twelve months. <br /> (c) A candidate shall file a sworn statement <br /> with the city secretary not later than ten <br /> (10) days from the date the candidate files <br /> with the appropriate person an application <br /> to be placed on the official ballot. <br /> (1) The statement shall list any finan- <br /> cial interest, direct or indirect, <br /> in real property located within the <br /> corporate limits of the City of San <br /> Marcos or within the extraterritorial <br /> jurisdiction of the city. <br /> (2) The statement shall also list any <br /> financial interest, direct or indirect, <br /> in any business entity located in the <br /> City of San Marcos or its extraterritorial <br /> jurisdiction or any business entity <br /> doing business with the City of San Marcos. <br /> (3) The statement shall list such interest <br /> held at any time during the twelve (12) <br /> months preceding said date of filing <br /> for office. <br /> (4) The financial interests required by this <br /> subsection shall include any interest <br /> held by the candidate or a family member <br /> of the candidate. <br /> (d) Any person filing a statement required by this <br /> Section may include additional months. <br /> SECTION 3. That Section 2-84 of the Code of Ordinances, City <br /> of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 2-84. Retention of Statements and Inspection. <br /> (a) The city secretary shall maintain all statements <br />
