<br /> C. Route Changes: Additional routes and extensions <br /> and modifications to, or abandonment of, all or a <br /> portion of the routes herein authorized may be <br /> established or changed by the Company only after <br /> obtaining the express approval of the Chief of <br /> Police for the City of San Marcos. Any addition, <br /> extension or modification shall be filed in the <br /> office of the City Secretary promptly upon receipt <br /> of said approval. <br /> D. Equipment: The motor buses of Company shall be <br /> uniformly painted motor buses of reputable <br /> manufacture and they shall be of such size and <br /> seating capacity as will adequately fulfill the <br /> requirements of the routes upon which they are <br /> utilized. They shall be properly maintained and <br /> be in safe,sanitary and dependable condition. <br /> Said buses shall be operated only when in such <br /> condition. Buses shall be driven and operated <br /> at all times in compliance with all motor vehicle <br /> laws of the State of Texas. The motor buses shall <br /> be maintained in numbers sufficient to supply the <br /> service that may be required from time to time, <br /> including a reasonable number of spares. The pro- <br /> posed number of buses to be provided for each route <br /> shall be filed with the City at least fifteen (15) <br /> days prior to the first day of registration for each <br /> semester. City shall have ten (10) days to object <br /> to said proposal. If no objection is stated by <br /> City within said ten (10) day period, the proposal <br /> shall become effective eleven (11) days subsequent <br /> to its filing. If the City states an objection, <br /> said proposal shall not become effective until <br /> approved by City. <br /> Notice of any change in number of buses to be pro- <br /> vided on said routes shall be filed five (5) days <br /> prior to the time said change is to go into effect. <br /> If no objection to said change is stated by City <br /> within said five ( 5) days, said change shall become <br /> effective on the sixth (6th) day subsequent to said <br /> filing. <br /> For purposes of this section, City shall have stated <br /> an objection when notice is given pursuant to the <br /> requirements of Section I. <br /> E. Payments to City: City shall not require of Company <br /> the payment of any fees, licenses or charges other <br /> than those required by the statutes of the State of <br /> Texas; the regularly levied and assessed taxes on <br /> its property located in the City of San Marcos; a <br /> street rental charge consisting of <br /> 2 percent of all gross receipts of the Company <br /> on operations within the City of San Marcos serving <br /> the City and/or Southwest Texas State University. <br /> F. Bus Stop Zones: Location of bus stop zones shall be <br /> approved by the Chief of Police of the City of San <br /> Marcos, Texas. Said zones shall be suitably marked <br /> and equipped with signs which shall be provided and <br /> maintained by City at the expense of Company, said <br /> signs to indicate to the public where the motor buses <br /> of Company stop.
