Hopkins <br />City of San Marcos <br />Meeting Minutes <br />City Council Budget Policy Workshop <br />Thursday, March 27, 2014 <br />Call To Order <br />6:00 PM <br />501 East Hopkins <br />San Marcos, TX 78666 <br />Activity Center <br />With a quorum present, the Budget Policy Workshop of the San Marcos City Council was called to <br />order by Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 6:02 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Room #2 of the Activity <br />Center, 501 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 5 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem John Thomaides, Council Member Ryan <br />Thomason, Council Member Jude Prather and Council Member Lisa Prewitt <br />Absent: 2 - Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Wayne Becak and Council Member Shane Scott <br />1. Receive a Staff presentation and hold discussion regarding the 2014 Budget Policy for <br />the City of San Marcos, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Heather Hurlbert, Finance Director and Steve Parker, CFO /Assistant City Manager, provided the <br />Council with the Budget Policy presentation for 2014. Council provided consensus to remove the <br />$4 million constraint and.to use 5 -6% sales tax projections in preparation of the budget. <br />III. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. <br />None. <br />IV. Adjournment. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Scott, seconded by Council Member Prather, to adjourn the <br />budget policy workshop of the San Marcos City Council at 8:25 p.m. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />For: 5 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Prather and Council Member Prewitt, Mayor Pro <br />Tem Thomaides, and Council Member Thomason <br />Against: 2 - Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Wayne Becak and Council Member Shane Scott <br />
