<br /> of the said Wallace Subdivision, joining the South-
<br /> east line of the Benito Cruz Partition, a subdivision
<br /> of record in Volume l87, Page 134, Hays County Deed
<br /> Records, and continuing on to a corner of the said
<br /> Cruz Partition, for a re-entrant corner of the tract
<br /> herein described;
<br /> THENCE, continuing with the said existing City
<br /> Limits in a Northwesterly direction to are-entrant
<br /> corner of the said Cruz Partition;
<br /> THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction passing the
<br /> East corner of the said Cruz Partition, leaving
<br /> the existing City Limits and continuing on to a
<br /> re-entrant corner of the said State of Texas 188.958
<br /> acre tract, for a re-entrant corner of the tract
<br /> berein described;
<br /> THENCE, in a Northwesterly direction to the most
<br /> Northerly Northwest corner of the said State of
<br /> Texas 188.958 acre tract, same being on the South
<br /> bank of the San Marcos River, for the most Northerly
<br /> West corner of the tract herein described;
<br /> THENCE, in a Southeasterly direction with the South
<br /> and West bank of the said San Marcos River, the North-
<br /> east lines of the said State of Texas 188.958 acre
<br /> tract, to the East corner of the tract herein described,
<br /> same being on a Northwest line of that 38 acre tract
<br /> of land conveyed to Rosemary W. McTaggart by deed dated
<br /> December 15, 1967 and recorded in Volume 221, Page
<br /> 230, Hays County Deed Records;
<br /> THENCE, leaving the said San Marcos River with the
<br /> Southeast line of the said State of Texas 188.958 acre
<br /> tract, in a Southwesterly direction, crossing the
<br /> aforementioned State Highway 621, and continuing on
<br /> to the POINT OF BEGINNING containing 189 acres of land,
<br /> more or less.
<br /> WHEREAS, notices of said public hearings were published
<br /> in the San Marcos Daily Record, a newspaper having general
<br /> circulation in said city and in the territory proposed for
<br /> annexation, on , and ,
<br /> respectively, said dates being not more than twenty (20) days
<br /> nor less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing for which
<br /> notice was given; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, prior to the publication of notice of said hear-
<br /> ings, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, directed
<br /> preparation of a service plan that provides for the extension
<br /> of municipal services to said area proposed for annexation; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, said proposed service plan was made available
<br /> for inspection and explained to the inhabitants of the area to
<br /> be annexed at said public hearings; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, said approximately 189 acres, more or less, are
<br /> located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of
<br /> San Marcos, Texas, and not within the extraterritorial jurisdiction
<br /> of any other city; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, said approximately 189 acres, more or less, are
<br /> contiguous and adjacent to the current boundaries of the City of
<br /> San Marcos, Texas; now, therefore,
