23 RESOLUTION NO. 1983-34R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TE~S AND CONDITIONS OF AN AGREEMENT CONCERNING PROVISION OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES BETWEEN SAID CITY AND HAYS COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE !~YOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, desires that emergency medical services be provided to the citizens of San Marcos; and, WHEREAS, Hays Memorial Hospital, the entity currently pro- viding such services in and around the City of San Marcos, has notified said City that the Hospital will no longer sponsor the service after September 30, 1983; and, WHEREAS, a citizen committee consisting of Dr. William R. Rogers, Terry Smith, Darwin Winfield and John Anderson has recommended that the provision of emergency medical services in San Marcos and portions of Hays County be administered by a tax-exempt organization established under the direction of an independent governing board; and, WHEREAS, said citizen committee has further recommended that the City Council of the City of San Marcos and the Commissioners Court of Hays County each appoint three members to such an organiza- tion; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, desires that said plan of organization be implemented and examined over a three-year period; and, WHEREAS, said Council desires to work with Hays County to attempt to ensure the success of said plan of organization; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN 11ARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the terms and conditions of an Agreement Concerning Provision Of Emergency Medical Services between the City of San Marcos, Texas, and Hays County, a copy of which Agree- ment is attached hereto and made a part hereof, the same as if copied verbatim herein, and designated as Exhibit "A", are hereby approved in all respects. PART 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, Emmie Craddock, be, and she is hereby, authorized to execute said Agreement Concerning Provision Of Emergency Medical Services on behalf of the City of San Marcos.
