<br /> -3- <br /> laboratory, for use for emergency medical service operations. <br /> County agrees to remodel said area to meet the operational <br /> needs of the organization to be created pursuant to this <br /> Agreement. County further agrees to construct an all-weather <br /> cover at the hereinbefore described site adequate to protect <br /> those ambulances maintained by the organization created pursuant <br /> to this Agreement. Said construction shall be initiated by <br /> County upon request by said organization and shall be completed <br /> in a timely manner. <br /> IV. <br /> City shall train a sufficient number of the members of the <br /> City of San Marcos Fire Department as emergency medical technicians <br /> to ensure that an on-duty fire department employee with EMT <br /> training is available at all times to act as a member of the <br /> backup crew for the provision of emergency medical services. <br /> City shall allow one (1) ambulance owned by the organization to <br /> be created pursuant to this Agreement to be located at a City <br /> fire station. City shall provide the services of the on-duty <br /> San Marcos Police Department dispatcher as a backup for the <br /> emergency medical services emergency line. Said dispatcher shall <br /> log all emergency calls. <br /> V. <br /> City and County agree that three years is a desirable <br /> period of time during which the feasibility of operating emergency <br /> medical services in the City of San Marcos and Hays County by <br /> the tax-exempt organization described in part I of this Agree- <br /> ment can be examined.
