<br /> AIRPORT MANAGER <br /> Duties <br /> Operates and ~ages the San Marcos Municipal Airport and acts as <br /> assistant to the Director of Administrative and Public Services while <br /> performing the following duties: <br /> -Handles a variety of problems related to Airport administra- <br /> tion and management. <br /> -Insures that FAR Part 139 standards are maintained. <br /> -Oversees airport operations, maintenance of facilities and <br /> grounds; safety; and security. <br /> -Negotiates leases for airport activities under general guidance <br /> of the Director of Administrative and Public Services. <br /> -Updates and maintains Airport Master Plan. <br /> -Prepares budgets, reviews revenues, and approves expenditures, <br /> as an enterprise fund operation. <br /> -Represents the City in aviation responsibilities to Federal, <br /> State, other municipalities, and private aviation organiza- <br /> tions as deemed necessary. <br /> -Participates and advises in the planning sessions with the <br /> Airport Commission and the Aiport Zoning Board. <br /> -Meets with officials from the Federal Aviation Administration <br /> and Texas Aeronautics Commission. <br /> -Prepares a variety of reports and grant applications related <br /> to Airport development and maintenance. <br /> -Researches and prepares projects and goals for the Director <br /> of Administrative and Public Services. <br /> -Coordinates the clerical work in the completion of paperwork <br /> related to Airport administration. <br /> Job Requirements <br /> -Knowledge of City, State, and Federal laws, rules and regu- <br /> lations related to Airport development and management. <br /> -Knowledge of lease preparation and development. <br /> -Knowledge of the principles, practices and processes of general <br /> administration. <br /> -Knowledge of basic principles required for budgeting. <br /> -Knowledge of City departmental functions. <br /> -Ability to work with and gain support of employers, employees, <br /> and outside agencies. <br /> -Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br /> Difficulty of Work <br /> The ability to effectively analyze and administrate keeping in <br /> mind rules and regulations relevant to development and management. <br /> Ability to plan through on decisions, which includes wise and forthright <br /> judgement and planning. <br /> Responsibility <br /> Works under the general supervision of the Director of Administrative <br /> and Public Services. Receives general instructions on special projects. <br />
