47 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CI'J'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, SEPTEMBER 9, 1985 PRESENT: Mayor Emmie Craddock Council Members Karl W. Brown Bill Coddington Gerald G. Herrera Assistant City Attorney Joan Kennerly Director of Public Works George Boeker Director of Env. and Engineering Steve Jenkins Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb Police Chief Myron Galchutt Director of Planning Frank Robbins Also Present: Melissa Millecam, Bill and Nina Pryatel, Gene Hildebrandt, Brenda Smith, Betty Stansbury, Terry Colley, Jim Gandy, Mo Johnson, Vince VandeWalle and others. Mayor Craddock called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held August 26, 1985. Ms. Kissler moved for approval and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Kissler, Nicola. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Coddington. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting held August 28, 1985. Mayor Craddock moved to ap- prove the minutes and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration confirmation of the City Manager's appointment of the Police Chief to Director of Police and Fire/Police Chief. Mayor Craddock moved to confirm Myron Galchutt to this new position and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock introduced a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY ZONING 35.86 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND AREA IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI SURVEY NO.1, SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS; BEING A PORTION OF THAT TRACT DESCRIBED AS 271.99 ACRES IN A DEED FROM LEONARD LEIGHTON, TRUSTEE, TO TD-350 INVESTMENTS DATED JANUARY 18,1984 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 414, PAGE 188 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, AND LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 1500 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE 1200 BLOCK OF EAST WONDER WORLD DRIVE, FROM "PD" (PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) TO "LI" (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) AND DE- CLABING ÃN EFFECTIVE DATE.
