RESOLUTION 2014 -84R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS REJECTING BIDS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO AN <br />INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR THE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS - <br />HOPKINS STREET (SH80) AND CHARLES AUSTIN DRIVE PROJECT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On April 10, 2014 the City received two (2) bids in response to an Invitation for <br />Bids (IFB 214 -328) for Intersection Improvements- Hopkins Street (SH80) and Charles Austin <br />Drive Project (the "Project "). <br />2. After review of the bids, the City determined that both bids exceed the current <br />amount budgeted for the Project and that proceeding with an award of a construction contract for <br />the Project at this time is not in the City's best interest. <br />3. The City will revisit specifications, utilize other current City contracts and rebid <br />the concrete components as a minor construction project in the future. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The bids received in response to IFB 214 -328 for the Intersection <br />Improvements- Hopkins Street (SH80) and Charles Austin Drive Project are rejected. <br />PART 2.
