RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -98R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S <br />APPOINTMENT OF CHASE STAPP AS CHIEF AND HEAD OF THE <br />SAN MARCOS POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. Under Section 143.013 of the Texas Local Government Code, the chief or head of <br />the Police Department is to be appointed by the chief executive officer of the city and confirmed <br />by the municipal governing body. <br />2. The City Manager has appointed Chase Stapp to serve as chief and head of the <br />San Marcos Police Department for all lawful purposes effective August 2, 2014. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The San Marcos City Council hereby confirms the City Manager's <br />appointment of Chase Stapp as chief and head of the San Marcos Police Department for all <br />lawful purposes effective August 2, 2014. Howard Williams shall continue to be the chief and <br />head of the San Marcos Police Department until and including August 1, 2014. <br />PART 2.
