AUSTIN REGIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER
P O Box 689001
Austin, TX 78768 -9001
(5 12) 974 -2742
Fax — (512) 974 -6692
ARIC @AUSTINTEXAS.GOV
Dear Chief Williams,
As you know, the Austin City Council recently approved amendments to the interlocal agreements that
established and fund the Austin Regional Intelligence Center (ARIC) to add six new law enforcement
agency partners to ARIC. The following are the newly approved partner agencies:
• Austin Community College Police Department
• Texas State University Police Department
• Cedar Park Police Department
• Pflugerville Independent School District Police Department
• Kyle Police Department
• Buda Police Department
In order to complete the process of including these new agencies as ARIC partners, it is required that the
governing bodies of all current partners also approve these amendments, and that the governing bodies of
the proposed partners approve the interlocals and the amendments to the interlocals.
The amendment documents are included herein. There are two interlocal agreement amendments — 1)
Amendment One to Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for the Austin Regional Intelligence Center, and 2)
Amendment One to Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for Sustainment Funding for the Austin Regional
Intelligence Center. There are two (2) copies of each of these amendments, for a total of four original
documents enclosed.
I request that you obtain your governing body's approval of these agreements and amendments, as
necessary, and then have them properly executed. . You will then retain one original copy of each
amendment for your records, and mail the remaining pair of original documents back in the attached
return envelope. These will be collected by Senior Assistant Travis County Attorney Barbara Wilson,
and ultimately will be housed at the ARIC.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I want to welcome our new partner agencies aboard; this is
a great step forward. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Very Respectfully,
Lt. Joseph Chacon
Director — Austin Regional Intelligence Center
(512) 974 -6843
joseph.chacongaustintexas Gov
