City Council Meeting Minutes June 17, 2014 <br />IV. PRESENTATIONS <br />3. Receive a Staff presentation and hold discussion regarding the development of City of <br />San Marcos' legislative priorities for the 2015 session of the Texas Legislature, and <br />direction to Staff. <br />Melissa Millecam, provided a brief presentation regarding the legislative priorities for the 2015 <br />session of the Texas Legislature. Council provided consensus that the following were priorities: <br />revision of the truth in taxation language, passenger rail support for this area, second language <br />emersion in elementary schools, transportation, fire /ems protection and river protection. <br />6:00 PM <br />V. Invocation <br />Pastor Paul Buntyn, from Abundant Life Christian Church, provided this evening's invocation. <br />VI. Pledges Of Allegiance - United States And Texas <br />Council members led this evening's pledges. <br />VII. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, seconded by Council Member Prewitt, that <br />the consent agenda be approved, with the exception of item # 6 which was considered <br />separately and item #11 which was postponed. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, <br />Council Member Thomason, Council Member Scott and Council Member Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Prather <br />4. Consider approval of the following: <br />June 3, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes <br />June 11, 2014 Special Meeting Minutes <br />5. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -34, on the second of two readings, amending <br />Section 86.198 of the San Marcos City Code to establish New Water, Wastewater and <br />Electric Utility Service Fees; approving a schedule of corresponding Utility Service <br />Fees; providing a savings clause; providing for the repeal of any conflicting provisions; <br />and providing an effective date. <br />6. Consider approval of Resolution 2014 -74R approving an Interlocal Cooperation <br />Agreement with Texas State University providing for coordination and cost sharing in a <br />traffic study at the intersection of North Guadalupe Street and West Woods Street with <br />a participation amount by the City of $24,750.00; and declaring an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, seconded by Mayor Guerrero, that Resolution <br />City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
