CITY OF SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />5. Tourist Homes and Camps. All tourist camps shall be considered non- <br />residential customers and billed under the appropriate Lighting and Power <br />Rate. All wiring on the customer's side of the point of delivery shall be <br />provided by the customer. All dwellings primarily used for the purpose of <br />renting rooms to tourists shall be considered non - residential customers and <br />billed under the appropriate Lighting and Power Rate. <br />6. Public Housing Authorities. All public housing authorities shall be billed <br />under the appropriate Lighting and Power Rate. <br />DISTRIBUTION LINE EXTENSION POLICY <br />L GENERAL- It shall be the policy of the city to furnish electric service to its <br />customers from distribution lines of standard voltages. The type and location of <br />lines required to supply electric service shall be determined by the city at its sole <br />discretion; however, said lines shall be constructed in accordance with sound <br />engineering practices and shall meet as a minimum the standards outlined in the <br />NATIONAL ELECTRICAL SAFETY CODE. <br />II. REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE- The Provisions of this Policy shall apply <br />to all line extensions required to serve customers in the electric service territory of <br />the City. The specific requirements for extension for the types of service listed <br />below are set forth in Appendix A attached hereto. <br />TYPE OF SERVICE <br />SECTION <br />RESIDENTIAL <br />A <br />COMMERCIAL <br />B <br />INDUSTRIAL <br />C <br />MUNICIPAL <br />D <br />LIGHTING <br />E <br />SPECIAL FACILITIES <br />F <br />SUBDIVISION DEVELOPMENTS <br />G <br />TEMPORARY <br />H <br />III. LINE EXTENSION RIGHTS- The City, as a condition for providing service to <br />the premises, shall have at all times complete ownership and control of the entire <br />line constructed and shall have the right to serve others from said line and /or any <br />extension thereof, without any obligation to refund any part of the payment for <br />excess construction costs. <br />IV . JOINT CONSTRUCTION- The estimated cost to the applicant where an <br />excess construction payment is required shall be charged whether or not `joint <br />construction" is used. Joint construction is defined as pole line construction in <br />conjunction with another utility. <br />V. PRIMARY LINE CAPACITY- The City may at its discretion construct system <br />additions or improvements such as primary overhead lines of greater capacity <br />and /or with more phase conductors than are required to serve premises, except <br />that the applicant will pay only the estimated cost to construct facilities adequate <br />to provide the requested service in situations where an excess construction <br />payment is required. <br />14 <br />
