CITY OF SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />APPENDIX A - DISTRIBUTION LINE EXTENSION POLICY <br />A. RESIDENTIAL SERVICE <br />The City will construct a standard overhead primary line extension (single - phase) to <br />provide service to a residential, multi - family, or commercial facility requiring full time <br />service at the regular established rates and minimum monthly charges under the following <br />conditions: <br />CONTRIBUTION -IN- AID -of- CONSTRUCTION FEES <br />The contribution -in- aid -of- construction (CAIC) is a fee paid by the customer <br />to help cover the costs of extending lines. The CAIC is non - refundable and <br />must be paid before construction begins. <br />2. PERMANENT RESIDENCE- Customer pays a non - refundable Contribution - <br />In- Aid -of- Construction (CAIC) for all estimated line extension costs greater than <br />$1500.00. The estimated cost is the total of all construction including labor, <br />materials, engineering, right -of -way acquisition and clearing, and any other costs <br />directly attributable to the extension. <br />MULTIPLE DWELLING- A standard overhead line extension will be <br />extended for service to multiple dwellings on the same basis as for a Permanent <br />Residence, with consideration being given for the number of dwelling units and <br />the expected occupancy ratio. .4. MOBILE HOME- Electric service will <br />be provided to a customer owned meter pole from the City's existing primary <br />lines. In situations where the extension of primary facilities is required to serve a <br />mobile home, the applicant will be required to pay the estimated cost in advance <br />for constructing the extension. <br />Customer pays a non - refundable Contribution -In- Aid -of- Construction (CAIC) for all <br />estimated line extension costs greater than $1500.00. The estimated cost is the <br />total of all construction including labor, materials, engineering, right -of -way <br />acquisition and clearing, and any other costs directly attributable to the <br />extension.5. MOBILE HOME PARKS AND MOBILE HOME <br />SUBDIVISIONS- Mobile homes to be located inside City- designated Mobile <br />Home Parks and Mobile Home subdivisions will be provided service in <br />accordance with Appendix A, Section G. <br />6. SEASONAL FACILITIES- A permanent electric service will be provided from <br />the City's existing primary lines. Where extension of primary facilities is required <br />to serve weekend or resort homes, cabins and other domestic facilities which are <br />not utilized on a full time basis, the applicant will be required to bear the actual <br />cost for constructing the entire extension. <br />B. COMMERCIAL SERVICE <br />The city will construct an overhead primary line extension to provide permanent service <br />to a commercial facility requiring full time service at the regular established rates and <br />minimum monthly charges under the following conditions: <br />SMEU shall estimate the cost for the line extension based on current unit material and <br />labor costs for the required service.
