RESOLUTION 2014 -118R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING AN AIRPORT PROJECT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE STATE OF TEXAS ACTING THROUGH THE <br />TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A HANGER ACCESS <br />SECURITY FENCING AND AUTO PARKING PROJECT AT THE SAN <br />MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF <br />APPROXIMATELY $135,000.00 IN LOCAL PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On May 20, 2014 the City of San Marcos (the "City ") passed a resolution requesting that <br />the Texas Transportation Commission ( "TTC ") approve the design and construction of the Hangar Access <br />Security Fence Project in the amount of $350,000.00. <br />2. The Texas Department of Transportation ( "TxDOT ") has agreed, at the City's request, to <br />include in the project the design and construction of auto parking areas in the estimated amount of <br />$100,000 to support the automobile traffic that no longer will be able to directly access the ramp for a <br />total project cost of approximately $450,000.00. <br />3. Approximately $350,000.00 of the Hangar Access Security and Auto Parking Project (the <br />"Project ") costs are eligible for financial assistance of 90% from TxDOT and the City's local participation <br />is 10% or $35,000.00 of the eligible Project costs. <br />4. Approximately $100,000.00 (100 %) of the auto parking portion of the Project is the City's <br />responsibility. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The Airport Project Participation Agreement between the City and the State of <br />Texas acting through the Texas Department of Transportation, TxDOT CSJ No. 1414SANMR for the <br />Hangar Access Security Fence and Auto Parking Project is approved. <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately $35,000.00 (10 %) towards the hangar <br />access security fence portion of the Project in local participation in the Project is approved. <br />PART 3. The City's expenditure of approximately $100,000.00 (100 %) towards the parking <br />portion of the Project in local participation in the Project is approved. <br />PART 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute the final Airport Project <br />1 <br />
