Hopkins - Annexation Workshop <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the Annexation Workshop of the San Marcos City Council was called to <br />order by Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 6:03 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the City Council <br />Chambers, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 6 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem John Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem <br />Wayne Becak, Council Member Ryan Thomason, Council Member Jude Prather <br />and Council Member Lisa Prewitt <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Shane Scott <br />1. Receive a Staff presentation and hold discussion regarding the City of San Marcos' <br />Annexation Strategy /ETJ Management Strategy, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Matthew Lewis, Director of Development Services, provided an introduction to annexation to the <br />Council. Alison Brake, Planner, provided the Council with a presentation regarding the cities <br />proposed annexation strategy and ETJ management strategy. Following discussion the Council <br />did not provided any additional direction to Staff. <br />VI. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. <br />Daniel Scales, 1322 Belvin St, asked if La Cima would be identified for annexation in this <br />calendar year? Staff replied that it will be looked at, yes. However, the decision still lies with the <br />Council. <br />VII. Adjournment. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Thomason, seconded by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Becak, <br />to adjourn the annexation workshop of the San Marcos City Council at 6:45 p.m. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Becak, <br />Council Member Thomason, Council Member Prather and Council Member <br />Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Scott <br />LLeeJa ettijohn, y Cler <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />Dan' I Guerrero, r <br />
