<br />40 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting June 26, 1989 Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A FOUR-WAY STOP <br />AT THE INTERSECTION OF COMANCHE AND HUTCHISON STREETS <br />AND ESTABLSIHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hernandez moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading, and Mr. <br />Hart seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 21-37 OF DIVISION 5, <br />SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT SERVICES--FIELD TRAINING OFFICERS <br />OF ORDINANCE 1988-90 WHICH SPECIFIED THE NUMBER OF <br />OFFICERS ELIGIBLE AND NUMBER OF YEARS OF SERVICE RE- <br />QUIRED WITH THE SAN MARCOS POLICE DEPARTMENT BEFORE <br />PERFORMING AS A SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT FIELD TRAINING <br />OFFICER~ TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF OFFICERS ALLOWED <br />TO SERVE IN SAID CAPACITY FROM FOUR TO SIX, TO CHANGE <br />YEARS OF SERVICE REQUIRED FROM TWO TO ONE AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br />Hernandez seconded the motion. Mayor Morris moved to amend the Or- <br />dinance in the caption, third line from the bottom, delete the word <br />four and replace with three, and Mr. Moore seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously to approve <br />the Ordinance on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of Resolution <br />approving the terms and conditions of a Service and License Agreement <br />with the San Marcos Lions Club. The Council did not have a Resolution <br />or Agreement to consider. Ms. Grassle stated the terms of the agree- <br />ment had not been fully negotiated, and expected to have the discrepan- <br />cies worked out with the Lions Club by the next regular meeting. <br />Mayor Morris moved to table this item until the July 10, 1989 Regular <br />Meeting, and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On roll call the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />Aye: Moore, Hernandez, Hart, Morris, Guerra <br /> <br />Nay: Plummer <br /> <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held June 12, 1989, adoption of five Ordinances on third <br />and final reading, and adoption of three Resolutions by consensus. The <br />Council pulled off the consensus agenda item l1B2, llCI, and llC2 to be <br />considered separately. Mr. Hernandez moved to approve the minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting held June 12, 1989, adoption of four Ordinances on <br />third and final reading, and adoption of two Resolutions, by consensus, <br />and Mr. Moore seconded the motion which passed unanimously (Mayor <br />Morris abstaining from item lIC3). The captions of the Ordinances and <br />Resolutions read as follows: <br /> <br />Adoption of Ordinances on third and final reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MAR- <br />COS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE MASTER PLAN FOR SAN MARCOS BY <br />THE ADOPTION OF THE "RECOMMENDED COLLECTION SYSTEM IM- <br />PROVEMENTS MAP" AS A SUPPLEMENT TO MAP VIII-2 IN THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS ELEMENT OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS MASTER <br />PLAN AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
