Regular Meeting March 20, 2007 Page 2 The Council adjourned into Executive Session at 6:04 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 6:55 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council received an update and provided direction regarding River Ridge area. He stated the Council also provided direction regarding Hunter Road area. He also stated the City Council received an update from the Interim City Attorney regarding the Carson lawsuit. He stated the Council will talk about the remaining item at the end of the meeting. Mayor Narvaiz led the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Narvaiz introduced Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary reminded the citizens that the Castle Forrest neighborhood would be hosting a neighborhood clean up on Saturday, March 31, 2007. Mayor Narvaiz introduced City Council Report. 1) Donovan Knight reminded the citizens that Bobcat Build will be held on March 31, 2007. He also stated that if anyone knows of a project to please contact Kim Porterfield at Texas State. 2) Mr. Thomaides stated he attended the National League of Cities in Washington, D.C. He stated he attended a course on Leadership. He also stated he attended the meetings with San Marcos Delegates, Congressman Doggett, Senator Cornyn and Senator Hutchinson. 3) Mr. Thomaides stated he attended the G.I. Forum 59th Anniversary Celebration, which he felt was a success. 4) Ms. Couch thanked the citizens who showed up at the TxDOT public hearing on Ranch Road 12 project. 5) Ms. Couch stated she attended the San's Club Grand Opening. 6) Mr. Bose thanked Mr. Thomaides for sharing his National League of Cities information with the Council. He stated these are important trips and he was sorry he missed the Conference and the other meetings. 7) Mr. Bose stated he also attended the TxDOT public hearing regarding Ranch Road 12. 8) Mr. Bose stated he also attended the G.I. Forum 59th Anniversary Celebration. 9) Mr. Jones encouraged the community to be active and progressive and to put their personal interest aside to do what is best for the community. He also asked citizens to consider this when writing articles to the newspaper. 10) Ms. Robertson stated she also attended NLC. She stated she went to two additional courses, Disaster Preparedness and Diversity Issues. She stated she also went on the Lobbying effort trips. 11) Ms. Robertson stated she attended the Perryman Luncheon on Economic Forecast. 12) Mayor Narvaiz stated she has provided her Council Report for the weeks of March 7th thru March 20th. 13) Mayor reminded the citizens of the Citizen Summit scheduled for Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Activity Center. She stated there will be focus group answering the survey during the day and the public is welcome to answer the survey at 6:00 p.m.
