<br />53. Hospital: An institution or place where sick or injured patients <br />are given medical or surgical care either at public (charity) or <br />private expense. <br /> <br />54. Hotel and Motel: A building or arrangement of buildings designed <br />and occupied as a temporary abiding place of individuals who are <br />lodged with or without meals, in which the rooms are usually <br />occupied singularly for hire, in which there are no provisions <br />for cooking in individual rooms or apartments, and in which there <br />are more than eight (8) sleeping rooms, and may have a public <br />dining room accommodating more than eight (8) guests and a central <br />kitchen. <br /> <br />55. Institution: A nonprofit organization or building, public or <br />private, for the benefit of the public; or educational facili- <br />ties, churches, temples, hospitals, clubs, fire stations, police <br />stations, libraries, museums, city offices, etc. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />56. Kindergarten: A school for children of pre-public school age in <br />which constructive endeavors, object lessons and helpful games <br />are prominent features of the curriculum. <br /> <br />57. Loading Space: A space within the main building or on the same <br />lot therewith, providing for the standing, loading, or unloading <br />of trucks and having a minimum dimension of twelve (12) by thirty- <br />five (35) feet and a vertical clearance of at least fourteen (14) <br />feet. <br /> <br />58. Lodging House: A building other than a hotel, motel or boarding- <br />house, where eight (8) persons or less are provided lodging for <br />compensation. <br /> <br />59. Lot: An undivided tract or parcel of land having frontage on a <br />public street or an approved open space and which is, or in the <br />future may be, offered for sale, conveyance, transfer, or improve- I <br />ment, which is designated as a distinct and separate tract, and <br />which is identified by a tract, or lot number, or symbol in a <br />duly approved subdivision plat which has been properly filed of <br />record. <br /> <br />a. Lot, Corner: A lot situated at the junction of two or more <br />streets. <br /> <br />b. Lot Depth: The length of a line connecting the midpoints of <br />the front and rear lot lines. <br /> <br />c. Lot, Double Frontage: Any lot, not a corner lot, with <br />frontage on two streets which are parallel to each other or <br />within forty-five degrees of being parallel to each other. <br /> <br />d. Lot, Frontage: The length of street frontage between pro- <br />perty lines. <br /> <br />e. Lot, Interior: A lot other than a corner lot. <br /> <br />f. <br /> <br />Lot, Irregular: Any lot not having equal front and rear lot <br />lines, or equal side lot lines; a lot, the opposite lot <br />lines of which vary in dimension and the corners of which <br />have an angle of either more or less than ninety (90) degrees. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />g. <br /> <br />Lot Lines: The lines bounding a lot as defined herein. <br /> <br />(1) Front Lot Line: The property line between the front <br />yard and the contiguous street right-of-way boundary. <br /> <br />(2) Rear Lot Line: The property line between the rear yard <br />and the adjacent property or right-of-way, and contigu- <br />ous with the legal boundary of such use. <br /> <br />-8- <br />
