<br />1 244.. <br />Regu ar Meetlng <br /> <br />April 4, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Council received advice from the City Attorney regarding CenterPoint Energy <br />rate case. I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz lead the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. 1) Amy Kirwin stated <br />she wanted to thank Kim Porterfield and the Bobcat Build participants for <br />their help at the Eddie Durham Museum. She thanked City Staff for their <br />assistance with the cleanup of the Eddie Durham Museum. She stated she <br />also supports the efforts of the Code Enforcement. She encouraged the <br />Council to attend the CONA meeting being hosted at the Public Works <br />Building on Thursday, April 6, 2006. 2) Ed Davis stated at the March 21, <br />2006, City Council Meeting, he invited the Council to a Winegrad "No Kill" <br />Conference in Austin. He stated he attended the Conference and has <br />provided some information to the Mayor for her to provide to the Council. <br />3) Jamie Shelton stated she was a resident of Pearce Court. She thanked <br />the Code Enforcement for meeting with their neighborhood. 4) Sherri Bilson <br />congratulated everyone involved with the Bobcat Build for another <br />successful year. She stated she also wished to speak on Item #29, approval <br />of an Ordinance on first reading. She encouraged the Council to support <br />the SF-6 zoning change. She also thanked Code Enforcement Department for <br />doing a great job. 5) Thomas Rhodes stated he is a resident of Pearce <br />Court, and he thanked the Code Enforcement for their efforts. He stated hel <br />feels the code enforcement process is fair. 6) Cliff Caskey stated he <br />wished to speak on Item #28, amendment to the 2005-2009 CDBG Consolidated <br />Plan. He stated he is a representative of the Farmers' Market, which is <br />requesting CDBG funds to construct a cover for the market. He stated it <br />gets very hot, which affects the shoppers, and a cover would help with <br />making shopper more comfortable. 7) Keri Rhodes stated she is a resident <br />of Pearce Court. She stated she feels the Marshal's office is doing a <br />great job with Code Enforcement. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. 1) Mr. O'Leary <br />submitted for a Governor's Enterprise Project. He stated <br />receive sales tax rebates to use in hiring new employees. <br />stated the Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Shred <br />on Saturday, April 8th from 8:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />stated CFAN was <br />CFAN will <br />2) Mr. O'Leary <br />Day will be held <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Bose thanked the <br />Bobcat Build students who helped the Castle Forest neighborhood. 2) Mr. <br />Jones stated he visited with the Vice President of Student Affairs of Texas <br />State University to discuss a Good Neighbor Program. He stated he feels <br />this program will help benefit the students who terminate their contracts <br />with Residence Life. He stated Texas State University is willing to <br />participate in a magnet program regarding who to call related to a Good I <br />Neighbor Program. 3) Mr. Jones apologized for being absent at the Special <br />Meeting last week. 4) Mr. Jones stated he had two walk-ins come into his <br />
