Mr. Mihalkanin inquired to whether the contract requires the <br />previous Airport Director to be involved in the contract. Mr. O'Leary <br />stated the Richard Mendoza, Director of Public Works, will be involved in <br />the contract. Mr. Mihalkanin stated the minutes from the Airport <br />Commission which approved the amendment to the lease agreement are from <br />2005. He inquired to whether the current Airport Commissioners approve of <br />the amendment to the lease agreement. Richard Mendoza, Director of Public <br />Works, stated a storage building was torn down from high winds and it took <br />sometime for funding, permits and Fire Marshall requirements together. He <br />stated this lease agreement will include a plot of land for the placement <br />of material storage building and the replace the previous structure. The <br />Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the Economic Development Board. Mr. Thomaides moved to appoint Kay Wilson, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br />emergency the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE 2006-2007 CITY BUDGET TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PURCHASE OF <br />A SITE FOR A NEW FIRE STATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of Ordinance on emergency, and Mr. <br />Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated this Ordinance is to <br />provide funding to purchase the property located at 201 River Ridge Parkway <br />for the new Fire Station. Mr. Guerrero moved to amend the Ordinance to <br />read FY2005-2006, and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of Ordinance <br />on emergency. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER MAINTAINED UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE <br />SAN MARCOS CITY CODE TO RESTRICT WEST HUTCHISON STREET FROM GUADALUPE <br />TO MOORE STREET AS A TWO HOUR PARKING ZONE MONDAY TO FRIDAY FROM 8:00 <br />A.M. TO 5:00 P.M.; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />PENALTIES. <br /> <br />I Mr. Diaz moved for approval of Ordinance on first reading, and Mr. Guerrero <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Thomaides stated he feels the angle type of <br />parking in this area is dangerous when a long vehicle parks in these angled <br />spaces, it causes a bikers or a car to have to go into the on coming <br />traffic lane to get around these vehicles. He inquired to whether the <br />Parking Advisory Board discussed re-angling the parking spaces on this <br />
