<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />November 6, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 269.58 ACRES, MORE OR <br />LESS, LOCATED SOUTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF MACARTY AND HUNTER <br />ROADS (HILLTOP TRACT); APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS TRACT; AND <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing, and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing and consideration of approval of <br />an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF AN ALLEY LOCATED ADJACENT BETWEEN THE <br />1500 BLOCKS OF BROWN STREET AND PROSPECT STREET; APPROVING THE <br />CONVEYANCE OF THIS ALLEY TO GLORIA AND ARTHUR AMEY; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing, and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Guerrero moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Bose seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Jones inquired to whether the abandonment would have an impact <br />Ion property value. Mr. O'Leary stated the City currently owns and with the <br />conveyance of this alley this property will be back on the tax roll. The <br />Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing and consideration of adoption of <br />an Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 2.122 ACRE, <br />MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 800 BLOCK OF MARL TON STREET <br />FROM "TH" TOWNHOUSE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO "SF-6" SINGLE FAMILY <br />DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing, and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Not one did so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Jones stated he will support this Zoning Ordinance with <br />reservation. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced considerations of approval to set salaries of <br />I Council appointees. A. Mr. Guerrero moved to set the City Manager salary at <br />$135,000.00, and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. B. Mr. Guerrero moved to set City Attorney at $89,970.00, and <br />Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. C.
